Violin
Most violin students start at age 6, but can start as early as age 2 depending on desire, maturity, and parental involvement. Rental violins come in many sizes as small as 1/32 all the way to full size 4/4. Parents should rent violins until student is in a full size, most rentals apply to purchase price. Viola
Most viola students start at age 9 due to the larger size of the viola, however a violin can be fitted with viola strings for a younger child. Viola's come in sizes 13 inch to 16 inch for rentals Musical Paradox can refer you to wonderful music stores that rent and sell violas.
Cello
Most cello students start at age 6. Rental cellos come in sizes 1/8, all the way to full size. Parents of students should rent cellos since they will need to trade them in as the child grows. Musical Paradox Studios can refer you to wonderful music stores that rent and sell cellos.
Piano
Most piano students start age 6, but students as young as 4 can be given lessons depending on desire, finger strength, and parental involvement. A keyboard is suggested for very young children. Children age 6 and above are strong enough to use a regular piano.

Double Bass
